Suggestion to add "deadname" term[]
Surprised this wasn't already on the page. I don't know exactly where it'd go in here nor do I want to try writing formally right now, but I feel like it's a common term that people aren't always aware of in LGBTQ+ discussions. I do know it's not a LGBTQ+ exclusive term but it's rather often used in such, so I think it'd be good to include.
Side note if added; please avoid any implication that it's exclusive to transgender individuals or only relates to transgender individuals. It is used by anyone who has a previous name that they wish to avoid; this can include nonbinary individuals, intersex individuals, or even those who aren't LGBTQ+ at all. I had to bring up this concern towards Fandom's Gender Identity Guidelines as well and they've yet to correct it there. It'd be fair to mention that it is certainly rather popularly associated with transgender individuals if such must be mentioned at all, but it is not exclusive to them. ~ Karasu || user // contact // CC wall ~✨ 17:45, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- I like this. I don't think we need to reveal deadnames on the wiki, but having a section or page that discusses what deadnames are certainly seems to fit the scope of what this wiki should cover. Fruipit 01:49, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
