Language concerns: I am concerned with the use of the word ‘lack’ instead of absence or some other term that is more value-free.
i pulled this from the web which explains why:
"Absence of" means there is none of whatever is being described. "Lack of" may mean there is none or there is not enough, but it implies that more would have been desirable or required.
If we want to be inclusive - to see all identities as equally valid - isn’t it important not to imply that when someone who does not possess/feel/embody a particular experience/identity (‘a lack thereof’ is used in this wiki’) that something is missing i.e. that more of a quality/feeling is required/normal?
FraySexual vs. Freysexual[]
hey i see that both Freysexual and Fraysexual on the main sexual orientation page both go to the same section labeled 'Fraysexual'. i was wondering if we could take one of them off as that would make a bit less confusion. i would say taking "Freysexual" off as the section it goes to is labeled "Fraysexual", this would require less changes to either side as only a link is being removed from the list.
Japanese LGBTQ+ wiki[]
Hi, we have been creating a Japanese version ja:LGBTQ+ Wiki! Will it be all right to ask you to add an interwiki language link to our main page as well? Thx in advance!
