- This article is about the identity label for individuals. For the umbrella term of multiple-attraction identities, see Multisexual spectrum.
Multisexual is both an individual identity label for sexual orientation[1] and a descriptor of other specific sexual identity terms for sexual and/or romantic attraction to more than one gender and/or sex. Multisexual identities are contrasted with monosexual identities,[note 1] meaning people who are attracted to a single gender (e.g. gay, lesbian, straight).[1][3] Multisexuality collectively includes labels such as bisexual, omnisexual, pansexual, and queer.[3] These multisexual identities are collectively grouped in the multisexual spectrum (abbreviated m-spec);[2] m-spec is also known as multiple-attraction spectrum,[4] or multi-attraction spectrum.[2] Due to the term "multisexual" being both an individual label and an umbrella term, this article addresses its use as a standalone label.
